Bombers Secure Playoff Spot

Cincinnati's St. Xavier Bombers broke their two-game losing streak on Friday as they defeated the St. Xavier Tigers from Louisville, 23-9.
The Bombers ended the regular season with a 6-4 record which includes a 3-0 record in the GCL South.

The Bombers were first on the board as Ben Carroll returned a punt for six points with just over 11 minutes left in the first quarter and Cincinnati St. Xavier never looked back.
The Tigers' Brad Schickel kicked a 37-yard field goal in the first quarter, but the Tigers failed to score again until quarterback Austin Gahafer threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to John Tudor with just 13 seconds remaining in the game. Gahafer was 14/29 for 136 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
Cincinnati St. Xavier struggled with the pass game as Nick Tensing and Matthew Mooney completed just 5 of 13 passes for only 37 yards.
On the ground is where the Bombers did the most damage. In 46 attempts Cincinnati St. Xavier rushed for 275 yards and a touchdown. Junior CJ Hilliard led the way with 113 yards of his own and notched his second 100+ yard game of the season.
Though the official playoff pairings will not be released until Sunday, it appears as if St. Xavier has secured a post-season berth and there's a good chance their first-round opponent will be their rivals, Colerain.
