LEBANON WARRIORS Division I, Region 4 Head Coach: Shawn Lamb (63-47 @ Lebanon, 11 years) 2011 Record: 7-3, 3-1 GWOC South
Overview: It is hard to believe that Lebanon hasn't been to the playoffs since 2002. The Warriors have won 63 games over the last 11 years under head coach Shawn Lamb. With a tough non-conference schedule it is imperative that this squad wins at least two of their first four tilts if they want to entertain thoughts of the postseason.
Quarterback Luke Morgan is the cornerstone of the offense. The three-year starter has thrown for 3,021 yards with 32 touchdown passes and only 12 interceptions in his career. Morgan's top target is the 6-foot-4 Austin Wolf, who caught 32 passes as a junior. Classmate Jake Barsala anchors the offensive line. Replacing the very productive Aaron Abbott at running back is a top priority for Lebanon.
Lamb is very thrilled about what he has coming back on defense. Linemen Chris Sutherland, Matt Bendel and Travis Hawley are as good as any core in the division. Sutherland was an All-GWOC selection a year ago. Bendel has 5.0 sacks at the varsity level. Linebackers Aaron Moulin, Jonathan Kaunert and Jordan Blair combined for 110 tackles in 2011. The secondary is paced by Anthony Wene, Alex McCarty and Brad Ellis. Wene will handle kicking and punting duties on special teams.
