Head Coach: Jack O'Rourke (11-19, three years @ Blanchester, 135-121 overall)
2010 Record: 7-3, 3-1
Overview: The 2011 campaign saw Blanchester turn the corner under head coach Jack O'Rourke. After back-to-back 2-8 seasons, the Wildcats posted seven victories in 2011. Keeping the train rolling isn't going to be easy for O'Rourke and his staff as graduation took a good portion of his top players. Now he has to see if his youngsters are ready to be prime time performers and keep the candle burning bright.
The defense is lead by leading tackler and First-Team All-SBAAC National member Kevin Roy. Blanchester only allowed more than 14 points twice in 2011. Timmy Lee and Dakota Gambrell combined for 7.5 sacks a year ago. Gambrell's secondary mate, Rickey Nicely, has the talent to be an All-Conference selection.
The offense has so many question marks. Can Seth Runyan handle the job under center? Who will take carries out of the backfield? Who will block for those runners? Chase Denham and Keaton Jackson will look to anchor both lines. Seven times this team scored 34 or more points in a contest last season. The constant pressure applied by getting up early and often was a big reason the Wildcats won so many tilts. Replacing all the cogs is not an enviable task for O'Rourke.
Jack O'Rourke is the same coach that PUNCHED his football player in the face last year and that SCREAMED at a mother for wearing her senior son's football jersey to a game. Just an FYI, he's quite the guy.
