Head Coach: Ryan Wilhite (35-25 @ Springboro, six years, 35-25 overall)
2011 Record: 3-7, 2-2
Overview: Could this be the year that Springboro finally gets over the hump and play in Week 11 for head coach Ryan Wilhite? The Panthers are going to be explosive on offense and if they get good push from their defensive line this is going to be a tough team to handle. The three wins they posted in 2011 are more of an anomaly than the norm. Expect Willhite's boys to get back into victory lane more often this fall.
Iowa-bound offensive lineman Sean Welsh is one of the best in the entire state. He will pave the way for Kyle Longworth to have a big campaign. Longworth ran for 606 yards and posted 1,094 all-purpose yards as a junior. Receiver Jake Johnson is coming off a 49-catch, 14-touchdown season. Opposite of him is the versatile Jack Schaaf, who led Springboro with 50 receptions as a junior. His classmate, tight end Jordan Rigg, is primed for a breakout year.
The heart of the defense is the depth the Panthers have at linebacker with Jordan Nicholl, Joe Kylin, Austin Tarrantino, Conrad Lamb and Stepahn Sukola. Nicholl and Kylin combined for 112 tackles and 5.0 sacks in 2011. Lamb will perform at an All-Conference level. The push up front will determine just how successful this team is come the end of October.
