5. NewCath (11-2)

10. Scott (4-6)

No way no how is Scott a top 10 team. They couldn't beat Dixie, Simon Kenton, or Campbell Co.

The Eagles are the "flavor of the week" at #10.

so in other words this isn't a serious top 10

It's a serious top 10. The real issue is this a down year in Northern Kentucky Football. Highlands and CovCath are easily the two best teams. However, from 3-14 it is debatable. In general the 6A schools coupled with NewCath and Beechwood would be logical choices. But debate is what this post is all about. The fact Scott made the initial top 10 is shocking to many and rest assured will be played on the football field, but the fact is Dixie, Simon Kenton and Campbell County all need to prove themselves as well.

Campbell Co won their district last year and return a good chunk of that team, they will be in the hunt for the district crown as well this year. Dixie some what of a unknown with a new coach but should be ready to play at the start of the season unlike how the previous coach who didn't have them ready to play games until about week 3, Simon Kenton will be an also ran but would beat Scott 9 out of 10 times.

1. Highlands until proven otherwise

2-6 CovCath, Holy Cross, Beechwood, NewCath, Boone- in any order

7-10- Conner, Ryle, Campbell, Cooper

SK, Dixie, Lloyd, Holmes still better than Scott.

Highlands and CovCath are on their own level, everyone else is pretty even.  Beechwood will win their district again, but lost a ton from last season, Holy Cross and NCC will be early favorites in 2A, but both will drop significantly in talent.  6A is always up in the air.  This could be a down year in NKY and throughout the whole state, unless your name is Trinity.

I do think Lloyd will be a lot better than most think.

What exactly constitutes a "down" year for Northern Ky football?

Beechwood should make a run in 1A

Holy Cross should make a run in 2A if they can get past NewCath

Highlands will make a run with CovCAth nipping at their heals in 4A

Conner made a nice run last year and are expecting big things this year with their QB in 5A

6A for Northern Ky will be competitive but no 6A team from NKY really makes a great run unless the playoff brackets are in their favor.
