The Turpin Spartans celebrated Friday night as they secured the first-ever Eastern Cincinnati Conference title as they knocked off Loveland 21-6. After nine weeks of high school play, Turpin still has an unblemished record.

The Spartans (9-0, 5-0) can thank senior Jason Dopp for a spectacular performance. Dopp did damage on defense, recovering a fumble and picking off a Loveland pass which both led to scores for Turpin. Teammate Connor Jansen ran 80 yards for one touchdown while teammates JR Stoll and Ryan Millikin also added to the scoreboard with touchdowns of their own.

Tigers' (5-4, 2-3) senior Graham Peters scored their only touchdown of the game and totaled 131 yards and 22 carries on the night. Although Loveland did not get the victory, their defense deserves recognition, holding the Spartans to only 268 total yards of offense, which is about a hundred yards less than what they were averaging before going into this contest.

Loveland goes on the road next week to finish out their season against Milford, while Turpin hosts Walnut Hills in hopes to end their regular season with an impressive 10-0 record.
