The Simon Kenton Pioneers won their sixth straight game as the opened up Class 6A district by picking up a victory over the Ryle Raiders on the road, 20-0.

Senior Jared Swanson returned the opening kickoff 95 yards for a score and that would prove to be the only points the Pioneers would need to prevail. Simon Kenton (6-0, 1-0) continued to dominate as they pitched their first shutout of the season and for the fourth time in six tries held their opponent to seven points or less.

Andrew Sampson provided the cushion as he rushed for a pair of touchdowns (17, 9) while finishing with over 100 yards rushing for the fourth time of the season.

Ryle's (2-3, 0-1) offensive woes reached a season-low point as they were held without a point for the second time in three games. For the year the Raiders are averaging a pedestrian 11 points per contest.

It's more 6A action next week for both schools as Simon Kenton returns home to battle Campbell County and Ryle looks for answer as they travel to Boone County.
